Context and why it mattered
As the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) takes effect and global OEMs raise the bar on ESG, manufacturing FDI in Vietnam faces pressure to transform quickly. The forum arrived when companies most need a clear action roadmap.
With 150+ delegates from FDI groups (Japan, Korea, Germany, the US), Binh Duong industrial zones authorities, international certification bodies and the industrial construction community, the event created a frank, practical space to discuss ESG in production.
Main sessions
Session 1: Global ESG pressure and impact on Vietnam’s supply chains
An LRQA representative outlined CBAM 2026 and CSRD — two EU mechanisms pushing Vietnamese manufacturers to measure and report product carbon footprints. Groups such as Apple, Samsung and Volkswagen have embedded Scope 3 requirements in supplier contracts since 2024.
"It is not if but when — ESG is no longer optional for any company that wants to keep orders from global OEMs." — LRQA Vietnam representative
Session 2: ESG infrastructure architecture for IPs — a three-layer model
Glassdome presented the ESG Infrastructure Platform deployed in Singapore and Germany, now adapted for Vietnam under Decree 57/2025. The three layers are:
- Energy layer: HOUSELINK acts as DPPA energy trader & aggregator, connecting IPs to renewable power from the generator network
- Data layer: Glassdome delivers a real-time carbon dashboard and ISO 14067–verified PCF — Catena-X ready for global OEM data exchange
- ESG services: HOUSELINK coordinates onboarding, free diagnostics and continuous reporting for each tenant in the IP
Session 3: Case study — Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh IP
This IP is pioneering the ESG infrastructure model in Vietnam. Becamex VSIP shared the journey from eco-IP master planning to delivery: solar on 40% of factory roof area, ISO-standard wastewater treatment, and a roadmap to EIP (Eco-Industrial Park) certification under Decree 35/2022 by 2027.
1. HOUSELINK × BECAMEX VSIP Binh Dinh — joint development of ESG infrastructure and DPPA for IPs
2. GLASSDOME × ATAD Steel — carbon tracking integrated into structural steel supply chains
3. HOUSELINK × GLASSDOME — scale the ESG platform to ten IPs in Vietnam during 2026
Outcomes and follow-up
After the forum, HOUSELINK launched a Free ESG Diagnostic for the first 50 FDI firms — assessing current ESG gaps, estimating carbon footprint and proposing an action roadmap within 30 days. Register via our contact page.
The next ESG Forum in the series is planned for June 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, focused on DPPA roll-out and Scope 3 measurement across supply chains.
